Hungarian “Free From” Food Business Event
2025.06.17.
So-called “free from” foods – whether GMO-free, gluten-free, lactose-free, or plant-based – represent one of the most dynamically growing segments in the food industry, both in Europe and in Hungary. The rise of health-conscious consumer habits and the increasing number of customers following special diets present significant market opportunities and export potential for Hungarian food producers.
Reflecting these market trends, the Hungarian “Free From” Food Business Event was organized by CED, together with the Agricultural Marketing Centre and the Embassy of Hungary in Vienna, on the opening day of the Free From Speciality Vienna fair, as a highlighted accompanying event.
The goal of the event was to support the international expansion of Hungarian food industry enterprises, strengthen cooperation in agriculture and agri-business between Hungary and Austria, and showcase the latest trends and directions in the “free from” food segment. The event brought together Hungarian producers and Austrian buyers and distributors, offering them the opportunity to establish direct connections and engage in business negotiations.
