SUSTAINABLE WATER MANAGEMENT: SPOTLIGHT ON THE PRESENT AND FUTURE OF THE WATER INDUSTRY
In a bid to establish a lasting tradition, the CED, in partnership with the Hungarian Water Partnership, hosted the inaugural Hungarian-Slovak Professional and Business Water Industry Meeting. The conference was designed to identify potential water industry project opportunities, fostering collaboration between key players from both countries.

Water industry advancements and the implementation of effective, sustainable water management practices have become critical priorities globally, focusing on areas such as the protection of drinking water resources, water usage optimization, and advanced wastewater treatment. Hungary ranks among the leading nations in both the region and Europe, known for its cutting-edge water treatment technologies, innovative solutions, and industry expertise—assets that are in growing demand internationally.

Against this backdrop, the CED Central European Economic Development Network Nonprofit Ltd. and the Hungarian Water Partnership convened over 100 industry stakeholders in Révkomárom for this first-of-its-kind conference.

The event’s key objectives were to strengthen cross-border partnerships within the water sector, encourage bilateral professional dialogue, and facilitate the exchange of best practices and industry insights. Presentations covered a range of timely issues, including the state of water industry operations and water management in Hungary and Slovakia, emerging industry trends, and opportunities for advancing sustainable water management solutions.

In addition to the technical sessions, attendees engaged with case studies and participated in panel discussions featuring leading Hungarian and Slovak experts. The event also provided a platform for business-to-business meetings, aimed at identifying new areas for collaboration.
